I'm thankful to Matthew Hoffman for the invitation to make an artist edition sticker for the You Are Beautiful project's sticker subscription. I decided to spend some quality time drawing these heavily ornamented words and enlisted my friends at Ghost Press to silkscreen the drawing onto 6x6" squares of shirting material.
Recently I’ve grown really interested in decorative ornament, as it represents striving to make something technically and obsessively beautiful. The investment of time and human labor is intended to signify importance. Since time is our most limited resource, I’ve been thinking a lot about how I can use it to convey value and worth. This fabric piece could be used as a tiny handkerchief or a patch, or you could hang it on your wall or carry it in your pocket.
