This typeface began as an answer to my constant hunt for a condensed serif. Mr. Lincoln is tall, skinny, honest, and raised in Illinois. Once the name stuck, designing the characters and the accompanying promo became a lot more exciting, and it opened up the possibility for an endless number of fonts based on presidents or other historical figures.

The promotional specimen features the font in use and folds out to a poster of Abraham Lincoln's address to the 166th Ohio Regiment in 1864 on the reverse. Images sourced from the Library of Congress' flickr stream, dig a little!

Abraham Lincoln is available for purchase / download with the lovely folks at Lost Type Co-op.
